Cannabis Health-care

Thursday, October 29th, 2009 | Author: admin

Many people can benefit off of cannabis. If medical cannabis was to be legalized across the nation, it would decrease the amount of money used to purchase pharmaceuticals, and other medical substances. Cannabis is known to treat diseases and ailments, ranging from anxiety, to chronic pain. All those pills that people have been prescribed, come with dangerous, and sometimes deadly, side effects. I have an alarming amount of friends that are prescribed more than three pills. One of them is prescribed to more than five; when I went to visit him and a few other friends, he would nod out at 6-7 o clock. If the pills were replaced with naturally medicinal, cannabis flowers, I’d bet my friend would be much better off. Cannabis is known to treat diseases and ailments, ranging from anxiety, to chronic pain so it would be tremendous to his health; only problem is you wont find a dispensary in North Carolina LOL

Cannabis flowers have many different properties, including THC, CBD and CBC, and all have different effects to the human body. The human body has within an endo- cannabinoid system that dwarfs many other systems in the human body. This system is one of the biggest, however we know as much about it as we do the brain (which isn’t that much). Lets hope all goes well with the health-care bill, for there’s many people suffering without health-care or a way to pay for it.

The Obama Effect

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009 | Author: admin

-Eric Holder, the attorney general under president obama, confirmed at a press conference that he would no longer subject individuals who were complying with state medical marijuana laws to federal drug raids and prosecutions; this potentially leads to the same endpoint as the twenty first amendment, which repealed the federal prohibition of alcohol, which included  selling and distributing.

-If your anti-medical marijuana and feel it damages the body and mind, let me just say a couple of quick, important facts. If you look at the medicinal page on this blog you will find a post describing the safety of cannabis; how cannabis does not have a known LD 50 (limit to death), or how it is physically impossible to overdose on. Unfortunately doctors prescribe dangerous pills that produce minor to severe side effects like suicidal thoughts, nausea, diarrhea, back pain and/ or skin flushing. You might say to yourself “well doctors usually prescribe these pills to people who really need them”. One of my good friends is prescribed to more than 5 pharmaceutical pills and everyday, at around 5pm, he is either nodding out or passed out on the sofa. If you have a friend or relative who has a similar problem, consult an outside physician (a doctor you never go to).

Curing OGPK 10/09

Sunday, October 11th, 2009 | Author: admin

The curing process begins after about 1 to 1 1/2 weeks, depending on the soil texture and watering schedule for the last few weeks of flowering. This grow took about 6 days to get 3  quarters of the way dry; at this point it would be best to put it in a sealed container, preferably glass, and keep it in there over the next 2 to 3 weeks. I took the harvest from the drying box and put it into a jar I purchased at the world market; I Didn’t want to squeeze my harvest into a small jar, so I got a really big one. The harvest weighed out on 10/11/09 to 50 grams, which is just under two ounces. The curing stage is about to begin, your going to see the overall color begin to lighten. The smell, which unfortunately you will not be able to experience, is going to become more of a pungent odor. As of right now, the smell possesses a woodsy smell with hints of citrus, which, the citrus odor, will increase over the next few weeks.

10/3/09 Harvest

Sunday, October 04th, 2009 | Author: admin

This Plant had a perfect photoperiod with even daylight and darkness, 12 hours daylight/ 12 hours darkness. The last grow was immature and smaller in size due to the time of planting. The seeds were sowed a bit too early, this was going on the advice of a native grower/ friend who knew the area as well as the weather. However he wasn’t positive about the local photoperiod; how long the days and nights are. This grow was planted in early august and was ready by early october, and the nugs this girl produced are rock solid! They appear extremely green but they will loose the dark hue and take on a much lighter green color after drying.

Senate Bill 420

Sunday, October 04th, 2009 | Author: admin

California state legislature passed senate bill 420 in hopes of improving the “wild-west” like atmosphere that surrounded the medical marijuana movement. This law “fleshed out” a bit more about the way prop. 215 would work, requiring counties to issue identification cards to patients who sought them; the se would also come handy in police interactions. SB 420 also set minimum guidelines for how much cannabis patients could possess: eight ounces of dried cannabis plus either six mature plants or 12 immature plants. (counties could allow higher). Though silent on dispensaries, SB 420 did contain a provision that protected patients or caregivers who ” associate…in order collectively or cooperatively to cultivate cannabis for medical purposes.” Dispensaries are all announcing they are collectives or co-ops to grow and distribute within the laws of the state.
